Maxie Ann Sanders Lewellen passed away peacefully at her home in San Angelo at 3:00 AM on October 10, 2016 after a sudden illness and went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved angels and had a large collection of them. Maxie was born in Gilmer, Texas and raised in Brownwood.

Just before her previous husband became terminally ill, she studied to earn her LVN and worked at hospitals and clinics in Brownwood, Ballinger and later, traveled to cover a large area for Home Health including San Angelo.

She loved square dancing and western dancing, and that is how she met her present husband, Vernon Lewellen after her previous husband, Don Trowbridge passed away.

Maxie was a very good mother and raised seven children who she trained to be fine upstanding citizens --- as well as helping to raise many of her grandchildren.

Maxie loved to fish and swim and sew - and was good at it. She was a very devoted and loving wife to Vernon Lewellen, who will miss her very much.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon Lewellen of San Angelo; daughters Altia and husband Edwin Hollis of Andrews, Virginia and husband Lynn Evans of Rankin; sons Claude Odinot II of Rusk, Don and wife, Gigi Trowbridge of Hondo, Curtis Odinot of Brownwood, Tommie and wife, Cindy Trowbridge of St. Joseph, Missouri and Esley and wife, Rhonda Trowbridge of Comanche; stepson Noble Eric "Rusty" and wife, Dawn Lewellen of Arlington; 24 grandchildren 45 great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Donald Trowbridge, granddaughter, Maxie Argabright; parents, brothers and sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to Water Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 51, Water Valley, Texas 76958.
